MarineLife Keyword List

The MarineLife Keyword List is a keywords file created by professional underwater photographers to simplify wildlife keywording workflow.

Designed for use with Adobe Lightroom, the file contains keywords for almost 12,000 marine species. The keyword list features common names, and when an organism is referred to by several common names, many or all can be used as multiple common names are attached to the appropriate image file. Attaching multiple common names for the same organism to an image is useful when searching for an image that is being requested by a common name that is not the name you typically use when referring to a given species. When a common name is attached to an image, the software also attaches and “auto-fills” the correct spelling of the organism’s Genus and species as well as other keywords that relate to the species’ taxonomy, color phase, behaviors, and more. The keywords related to taxonomy include the Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family and other sub-categories associated with the species. The correct spelling and auto-fill features of common and taxonomic names are huge time savers for those that do not “speak and spell fluent taxonomy”. The MarineLife Keyword List can currently be imported into Lightroom for immediate use. Importing keywords in Lightroom involves a different process than importing photographs.

The Birds of the World Keyword List is a keywords file created by professional photographers to simplify wildlife keywording workflow.
